What happened here?

The Meyberg Waterfall at the Los Angeles County Arboretum in Arcadia was used for the jungle-themed music video shoot scene in Wayne's World, where Benjamin Kane (Rob Lowe) attempts to commercialise Cassandra's band Crucial Taunt with a slick, overproduced video. The lush tropical setting of the arboretum's waterfall area provided the perfect faux-jungle backdrop for the scene, which satirises the excess of early-90s music video production. The arboretum also appeared as the location for Wayne and Garth's encounter with Alice Cooper backstage.

The Alice Cooper scenes are among Wayne's World's finest moments. Wayne and Garth meet Cooper backstage and bow down declaring 'We're not worthy!' — a scene that Alice Cooper reportedly loved filming. Cooper then delivers a surprisingly erudite monologue about Milwaukee's history, perfectly subverting his shock-rock persona. The backstage area was built as a set, but the exterior jungle and waterfall locations used the arboretum's natural beauty.

The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden at 301 North Baldwin Avenue in Arcadia is open to the public daily. The 127-acre grounds feature the Meyberg Waterfall, the historic Queen Anne Cottage (famously seen in Fantasy Island), and extensive botanical collections. The arboretum has been used in dozens of films and TV shows. Admission is charged.
