Get DirectionsThe house at 7105 Texahoma Avenue in Van Nuys doubled as Wayne Campbell's parents' home in Wayne's World (1992) — the modest suburban house with the basement where Wayne and Garth broadcast their legendary public access TV show. The 'Wayne's World! Wayne's World! Party time! Excellent!' opening, filmed in this basement, became one of the most iconic scenes of 1990s comedy. The quiet residential street in the San Fernando Valley stood in for Aurora, Illinois throughout the film.
Wayne's World, based on Mike Myers' Saturday Night Live sketch, was shot almost entirely in the San Fernando Valley and greater Los Angeles, despite being set in suburban Chicago. Director Penelope Spheeris chose the Texahoma Avenue neighbourhood for its convincingly Midwestern feel — modest houses, flat streets, and the kind of unremarkable suburban backdrop that made Wayne and Garth's rock-and-roll dreams feel both relatable and heroic.
The house is a private residence on a quiet residential street. Garth's house was filmed directly across the street at 7102 Texahoma Avenue. Fans occasionally drive down the street to photograph the houses, but visitors should be respectful of the residents' privacy. The houses look much as they did during filming in 1991.
