What happened here?

Starting in 1984, Tupac Shakur lived in this rowhome on Greenmount Avenue with his mother Afeni and his sister. The family settled in the Penn Lucy neighbourhood of North Baltimore, and it was here that Tupac's formative teenage years took shape.

While living on Greenmount Avenue, Tupac enrolled at the Baltimore School for the Arts on Cathedral Street, where he studied ballet, jazz, acting, and poetry. He befriended classmate Jada Pinkett (later Pinkett Smith), who remained one of his closest friends until his death. He was working on a production of A Raisin in the Sun when his mother decided to relocate the family to Marin City, California.
