Eminem's spaghetti restaurant, named after Lose Yourself
Notable year: Present
Mom's Spaghetti is Eminem's restaurant on Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit. Named after a line from his 2002 track Lose Yourself, the restaurant opened on September 29, 2021 and serves exactly what you'd expect — spaghetti. Plain, with meatballs, or as a spaghetti sandwich.
The concept started as a series of pop-ups. The first appeared in 2017 at The Shelter in Detroit to promote Eminem's Revival album. Pop-ups followed at Coachella, Firefly Music Festival, and Governors Ball in 2018. By 2021, the idea had grown into a full brick-and-mortar location on Woodward Ave. Eminem personally served the first ten customers on opening day.
The restaurant is owned by Shady Records and Union Joints. The menu is small and focused — four varieties of spaghetti and spaghetti sandwiches. The second floor houses a merchandise store. Mom's Spaghetti has also popped up outside Detroit, including a temporary location in Los Angeles during Super Bowl LVI in February 2022 and a New York City pop-up in November 2022 to mark the 20th anniversary of 8 Mile.
