L&B Cafe — Hibbing, Minnesota

The L&B Cafe on East Howard Street in Hibbing was where Bob Dylan met Echo Helstrom, widely believed to be the inspiration for Girl from the North Country. The cafe was a regular hangout for Hibbing teenagers in the late 1950s, and it was here that the young Zimmerman and Helstrom began their relationship.

The L&B Cafe at 417 East Howard Street is part of the Dylan trail through downtown Hibbing. Check locally for the current occupant of the building.
