What happened here?

On March 25, 2022, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins was found dead in his hotel suite at the Four Seasons Casa Medina in Bogotá, Colombia. The band had been scheduled to headline the Estéreo Picnic festival that evening. Emergency services responded to a report of chest pain but were unable to revive him. He was 50 years old. A preliminary toxicology report indicated the presence of multiple substances.

Taylor Hawkins joined the Foo Fighters in 1997 after drumming for Alanis Morissette's touring band. He quickly became the rhythmic backbone and charismatic co-frontman of the group, with Dave Grohl frequently citing their chemistry as the heart of the band. Hawkins was widely regarded as one of the finest rock drummers of his generation, known for his explosive energy and showmanship.

The Casa Medina is a historic 1946 hotel designed by architect Santiago Medina, located in Bogotá's upscale Zona G district in Chapinero. Following Hawkins's death, tribute concerts were held at Wembley Stadium in London and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, featuring dozens of guest artists. His hometown of Laguna Beach, California held a drum circle memorial at Aliso Beach, one of his favourite surfing spots.
