Bovingdon Airfield in Hertfordshire was where the climactic Live Aid recreation for the 2018 film Bohemian Rhapsody was filmed. The production team meticulously reconstructed the Wembley Stadium stage on the disused airfield, recreating Queen's legendary 20-minute set from July 13, 1985 — widely considered the greatest live performance in rock history. Rami Malek's portrayal of Freddie Mercury during this sequence won him the Academy Award for Best Actor, and the scene's shot-for-shot recreation of the original performance became one of the most discussed film sequences of the decade.
