What happened here?
On a carpark wall next door to the house Angus & Malcolm Young grew up in stands this mural created by artist, Claire Foxton in 2024.
The house was "accidentally" demolished by developers in early 2025 shortly after the mural went up. Maybe they were trying to soften the blow of knocking down the Young boys childhood home.
It's a beautiful mural and a fitting tribute to AC/DC's roots in Burwood.
This mural is worth a visit for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of AC/DC's origins. Burwood is a gritty, culturally diverse part of Sydney and a it's not too difficult to imagine the Young family landing there from Scotland.
